Signs of Adult ADHD
Adult ADHD is often missed. Learn common signs of inattention, hyperactivity, and executive dysfunction in adults.
Adult ADHD may look different from childhood ADHD. Hyperactivity often becomes internal restlessness rather than running around a classroom.
Inattention signs include difficulty sustaining focus, missing details, poor listening, and chronic disorganization.
Hyperactivity-impulsivity may appear as fidgeting, interrupting, impulsive decisions, or difficulty waiting your turn.
Executive dysfunction — planning, prioritizing, starting tasks, managing time — is frequently the most disabling aspect for adults.
If these patterns have affected you since childhood and impair work or relationships, a psychiatric evaluation can clarify whether ADHD is present.
